We are a community practicing mindfulness in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh. We begin each practice session with silent sitting meditation, followed by walking meditation and guided meditations. On a monthly basis, we also study and recite the Five Mindfulness Trainings and the Fourteen Mindfulness Trainings of the Order of Interbeing. We listen to dharma talks, practice Touching the Earth, engage in Dharma Discussions, sing, chant, and engage in other activities to strengthen our mindfulness practice.
Our Sangha supports mindfulness in daily living--in our homes, in our families, in our workplaces, and in our communities.
Huron River Sangha began practicing in 1999 and continues to meet almost every Sunday evening at 6:30 pm. We have a typical structure of our weekly meditation sessions. New participants are most welcome. You need not have had any training or experience.
See our calendar for a list of planned meditation dates and times. However, dates and locations sometimes change close to the scheduled sitting date, so sign up to for our yahoo announcements email listserve to receive up to date information.
